recoloring digital calendar tutorial

 Ok, so last night's show was  a lot of fun....thanks, Heidi for hosting! And, we were sooo thrilled to see Janet from the ICU pop in! **love you guys & praying for you!** And, of course, thanks to our sweet Nancy for moderating!

So...we showed you the amazingly FAB House of 3 calendars we have to offer & the fab ways to use them creatively...I. can. NOT. get enough of calendars! Love them! But...as  mentioned in the show...some of you have already emailed asking HOW to change the pre-designed colored calendars...so: here goes:

**note: you will need a photo editing program to change the colors. (like Adobe Photoshop PSCS or Adobe Photoshop Elements. PSE) I'm using PSCS4 here:

1. Open PDF image.

2. Go to: IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>HUE/SATURATION. You'll see a box like this pop up. You can see that you just have to adjust the sliders of the Hue, Saturation or Lightness.

3. Adjust sliders to achieve the colors you want. 

Do you see how I only adjusted the Hue on this one? Each color will adjust as you adjust the slider.

Here, I've adjusted both the Hue AND Saturation so I get a different looks as well.

 Can you see the difference when you adjust the Lightness and the Saturation, too? love it..kind of a frosty pastel.

So, there you have it! Use this technique on all of the House of 3 digital & printable kits to really customize your creations! & then, once you love them...send them off to Persnickety Prints for AMAZING quality! Did you see the cute calendar Heidi did? love it!

REstore!

Yes, my one little word for this year is: restore. I have so many things I need to restore in my life right now.  It's daunting. overwhelming. & I need to be brave. 

So...the *perfect* thing to get me going is: to start the Brave Girls' Online course: Soul Restoration.

It starts tomorrow & I've been busy getting all of my gear ready! Melody will be taking us through a whole 6 week course where we will be using aRt to restore our souls! Love this concept! 

All of you 21ers..this is the PERFECT way to continue our journey!

restyle. twenty eleven. DIY Inspiration Board.

 

 I love this. 

I plan on a LOT of restyling this year. rearranging. remaking. reshaping. anything & everything!  love this whole concept.

 I've had these fabulous *old skool*map drawers in my studio for several years now. They are a great height for me, since I like standing as I create. And Jeff topped them with custom stainless steel surfaces so they are basically indestructible.

I've had them up against my long wall with my huge magnet inspiration board above it.  For the web show on Wednesday night, Jeff pushed the tables out from the wall so Heidi & I could stand behind them...perfect!  

So, after our show when Jeff & I were moving back these work tables I thought: *Wait! I want to restyle: rearrange in a new shape. Jeff is so patient with me. *love that man* 

a few grunts, pushes, & voila!

i love them face to face like this! just something new. something fun. something to refresh my studio space. 

Yes, I'll most likely get sick of this & restyle it again. But, for now, I'm liking it!

So, after the show, I had so many people asking about my huge inspiration board on the wall...where did I get it?

Well...it's completely DIY! I had this space & knew I wanted a long inspiration board..I couldn't find anything. So, I designed one to my specs & had my assistant *she's remarkable* create this out of:

galvanized metal sheets (2)

wood made into a frame

painted plain white

& we hung it up! It was perfectly blank! So, I added some of my fave damask packing tape to the plain wood frame & even down the seam of the galvanized metal. I loved the look. A little sass with enough space to put up all of my inspiration!

 

For the show, I took everything down & we just had all of the pages from the 2011 Remarkable kits. I framed 2 of my faves in my vintage frames, hung them from the upper shelf &....it was perfect!

fun new things...

Last night on the web show, we mentioned a bit about some NEW things that will be coming your way from House of 3....well....here's a hint & sneak peek. 

The entire lines will debut at the winter CHA (craft & hobby association show) at the end of the month....so excited. We have loved working with Pink Paislee on these projects...so? Can you guess which 2 lines are House of 3 lines? hmmm....:)

&....last night was so inspiring. I felt re-energized & so resolved to continue my new year goals....how about You? ** I even talked Jeff into restyling my studio after Heidi left! LOL!  Remember when we talked about how changing things around can really refresh something? Well...I took my 2 work tables & changed them up a bit..I'll share tomorrow...along with how I did my huge magnet board that I've had TONS of questions about today! *wink*

remarkable 2011

I'm starting to fill in my new planner for 2011....lovin' it. 

I've used the My Book Planner & the new House of 3 Remarkable kits *that will be up soon* to create a planner that will work for me. I don't know about you, but pre-made planners always stump me. I have certain things I need in it...& with the Printable kit, I can print out as many pages of a certain thing I need. And with the Digital kit, I can use the brushes & create my own look that's perfect for me. Love hybrid goodness to start out my year!
