lots of questions about flowers...

 So...I thought I'll answer them here:

Q: I am DYING over your flowers on the show tonight. Please, Please, PLEASE tell me I can make them myself! I want to be you when I grow up!

A: Ok, you gave me a giggle. 1. Thanks! love that you love the flowers. 2. YES. You can learn. Go HERE to see more info at the very bottom. The blue one I made & had on during the show is a technique I teach you in Tutorial No. 2: Felt Flowers. I teach you how to make 2 different kinds...(actually 3, but using the same techniques). 3. No, you don't want to me when you grow up...I'm only 4'10", so I bet you are already 'grown up'. *wink*

Q: I really want to know how to make the felt flowers. Luv them!!! Is there a tut available for them somehwhere?

A: Thanks! It is so fun to make them and then mist them like I showed on the show! YES. Tutorial  No. 1 is the tut for the felt pom pom flowers. I talk about the kind of felt, show you how to mist, & we even cover other fabrics that work well with the Pom Pom effect! 

Q: I live out in the country & don't get in to purchase a lot of crafting materials. I want to learn how to make your flowers, but don't have access to the materials. Is there any way you'd teach me how AND send me the supplies? I do have basic crafting supplies, but I just want your felt, pearls & all the fun stuff you use! Thank you!

A: I totally get it. To have a kit that you open up with the step out instructions, all the supplies just delivered to your door would be fantastic! So, that's what we're offering now! Just go HERE & scroll down to the bottom where I explain what I'll send you! 

Q: So the flowers are going to be a new release from prima? I think they are so cool and would love to make some.

A: We showed 2 different kinds of flowers on the show: The cool canvas flowers are from Prima, debuting at CHA next week. And the pre-made felt flowers (that we didn't even show) will be in our House of 3 Soiree line with Pink Paislee debuting at CHA, too! 

Q: Can you explain a little more about the 100% felt wool you used when you made that flower on the web show?

A: Just to clarify: the 100% wool felt flower is the one I made & misted. The felt is expensive & hard to find. So: Pink Paislee has made it so fab! We'll be releasing cream & pink PRE-MADE felt flowers that you can Glimmer Mist just like I showed you! *no, it's not 100% wool. But they are so fun!

In fact, be watching for my make & take I'll be doing at CHA. Hint: you'll mist. you'll add the felt flowers. & of course, you'll be able to wear it! *wink*

It feels like Thursday today since we were off on our normal Wednesday Web Show & had it last night...Tuesday. Did I confuse you? Yea , I've been confused all week with Monday being a National Holiday, too! Oy!

Lots of fun sneaks, peeks, secrets, & of course, some major glimmer misting was going on!

We welcomed our special Guest: Wendy Senger of Tattered Angels. We announced  Color Connections! And we explained a little about it. We are so excited to share this new collaboration between 4 companies that come together to bring products that are formulated to work together & take the guess work out of color combinations! Pink Paislee, House of 3, Prima Marketing, Inc. & of course: Tattered Angels.

We talked about & showed the new Color Systems that Tattered Angels has created for each of our company's physical products: custom clam packs of Glimmer Mist, Glam & Glaze; that have been formulated to match perfectly with our 2 NEW lines coming out next week at CHA.

And, the NEW lines from Prima (we showed some sneeks of the amazing canvas flowers, etc. *swoon*) It's so exciting to see how all 4 companies can come together, work together & take the guess work out of color combining; hence the name: Color Connections. holla!

We also showed how cool the Glimmer Mists, Glam & Glaze works on bare wood. 

And, Heidi misted the bird houses that I'm glamming up for CHA. The NEW Chalkboard Glimmer Mists are sooo saturated, deep & bright! I'm giddy with it! 

I showed a little *forshadowing* of a new product we'll be putting out with Pink Paislee, too! And showed how to colorize them with these new colors: FELT FLOWERS!

such bright gorgeous colors...seriously. every white/cream flower can be any color you want! love it!

but, check out the shot Wendy took of my hands after the show! LOL!

Yea...I went home & found that a sugar/sea salt/natural oil scrub did the trick. My hands were fine afterwards...& felt so good after that scrub!

*whew* soo....doing a lot of creating to get ready for CHA next week! so excited!

recoloring digital calendar tutorial

 Ok, so last night's show was  a lot of fun....thanks, Heidi for hosting! And, we were sooo thrilled to see Janet from the ICU pop in! **love you guys & praying for you!** And, of course, thanks to our sweet Nancy for moderating!

So...we showed you the amazingly FAB House of 3 calendars we have to offer & the fab ways to use them creatively...I. can. NOT. get enough of calendars! Love them! But...as  mentioned in the show...some of you have already emailed asking HOW to change the pre-designed colored calendars...so: here goes:

**note: you will need a photo editing program to change the colors. (like Adobe Photoshop PSCS or Adobe Photoshop Elements. PSE) I'm using PSCS4 here:

1. Open PDF image.

2. Go to: IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>HUE/SATURATION. You'll see a box like this pop up. You can see that you just have to adjust the sliders of the Hue, Saturation or Lightness.

3. Adjust sliders to achieve the colors you want. 

Do you see how I only adjusted the Hue on this one? Each color will adjust as you adjust the slider.

Here, I've adjusted both the Hue AND Saturation so I get a different looks as well.

 Can you see the difference when you adjust the Lightness and the Saturation, too? love it..kind of a frosty pastel.

So, there you have it! Use this technique on all of the House of 3 digital & printable kits to really customize your creations! & then, once you love them...send them off to Persnickety Prints for AMAZING quality! Did you see the cute calendar Heidi did? love it!

restyle. twenty eleven. DIY Inspiration Board.

 

 I love this. 

I plan on a LOT of restyling this year. rearranging. remaking. reshaping. anything & everything!  love this whole concept.

 I've had these fabulous *old skool*map drawers in my studio for several years now. They are a great height for me, since I like standing as I create. And Jeff topped them with custom stainless steel surfaces so they are basically indestructible.

I've had them up against my long wall with my huge magnet inspiration board above it.  For the web show on Wednesday night, Jeff pushed the tables out from the wall so Heidi & I could stand behind them...perfect!  

So, after our show when Jeff & I were moving back these work tables I thought: *Wait! I want to restyle: rearrange in a new shape. Jeff is so patient with me. *love that man* 

a few grunts, pushes, & voila!

i love them face to face like this! just something new. something fun. something to refresh my studio space. 

Yes, I'll most likely get sick of this & restyle it again. But, for now, I'm liking it!

So, after the show, I had so many people asking about my huge inspiration board on the wall...where did I get it?

Well...it's completely DIY! I had this space & knew I wanted a long inspiration board..I couldn't find anything. So, I designed one to my specs & had my assistant *she's remarkable* create this out of:

galvanized metal sheets (2)

wood made into a frame

painted plain white

& we hung it up! It was perfectly blank! So, I added some of my fave damask packing tape to the plain wood frame & even down the seam of the galvanized metal. I loved the look. A little sass with enough space to put up all of my inspiration!

 

For the show, I took everything down & we just had all of the pages from the 2011 Remarkable kits. I framed 2 of my faves in my vintage frames, hung them from the upper shelf &....it was perfect!

so, there you have it!

fun new things...

Last night on the web show, we mentioned a bit about some NEW things that will be coming your way from House of 3....well....here's a hint & sneak peek. 

The entire lines will debut at the winter CHA (craft & hobby association show) at the end of the month....so excited. We have loved working with Pink Paislee on these projects...so? Can you guess which 2 lines are House of 3 lines? hmmm....:)

&....last night was so inspiring. I felt re-energized & so resolved to continue my new year goals....how about You? ** I even talked Jeff into restyling my studio after Heidi left! LOL!  Remember when we talked about how changing things around can really refresh something? Well...I took my 2 work tables & changed them up a bit..I'll share tomorrow...along with how I did my huge magnet board that I've had TONS of questions about today! *wink*

remarkable 2011

I'm starting to fill in my new planner for 2011....lovin' it. 

I've used the My Book Planner & the new House of 3 Remarkable kits *that will be up soon* to create a planner that will work for me. I don't know about you, but pre-made planners always stump me. I have certain things I need in it...& with the Printable kit, I can print out as many pages of a certain thing I need. And with the Digital kit, I can use the brushes & create my own look that's perfect for me. Love hybrid goodness to start out my year!

holiday decorating

You know how much I *adore* making my surroundings beautiful...right? This is one thing that brings me much joy! Now that we are officially *yes, I did sneak one Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving* in full swing of the Christmas season, I'm singing *pa-rum-pum-pum-pum* as I've been creating & decorating. I've created a little forest of Christmas trees & tucked in the forest are the little snowscape scenes I created last year..all different. all festive. & all DIY homemade! I Love a DIY Christmas!
