cReative Team Tuesday---> Insta Eye Candy!

Loving my New Creative Team....they are all simply a*mazing! Today, Jamie shares some easy & fab ideas on HOW to use the Insta Kits in mixed media...(they aren't JUST for Instagram! *wink*)
Jamie shares details about her cReative pRocess for this amazingly gorgeous project she has on her piano!
Lots of layers happening here. Finding lots of layers in many of my current projects.
The very first layer is vintage book paper attached horizontally.
A pattern from the SpookyJunque BackgroundKit was used as the cream and black large chevron pattern next. Then for a soft effect, plus to tone down the black a bit, a piece of vellum was layered on top of the chevron.
Atop of the vellum is a pattern I created in pse with the TextureBrushes Kit. I simply played around with the different digital brushes and colors until I was happy with the effect. Much the same way we do with paper on our work tables.
And the last pattern is one of the ledger designs from the GratefulGlam Background Kit. I just loved mixing all these patterns together and creating the texture that it did.
Next is a manila tag from my stash, and then one of the InstaThanks  PNGs was stamped in PSE, then printed on cardstock and trimmed and notched. The edges were inked with some Tim Holtz distress ink to add to the vintagey feel I was going for.
Another of the png's was stamped in pse as well, and was used as a little flag banner on the bottom of the piece."
I LOVE getting a peek into my Creative Team's process as they create. Isn't that fun? It's obvious she's 'enjoying her pRocess'! Jamie...once again, THANK YOU for sharing your process & uplifting & inspiring us!

Now...check out what Rosemary created for her photography clients! She made this cute banner for their engagement photo session & used the Insta Icons heart w/ the arrow! **one of my faves!** & the Insta Banners to create the shape!

Run on over to her blog to see more inspiration! I"m sure you'll be uplifted & inspired at HOW she uses Rhonna Designs in her Photography shoots! LOVE them! Thanks, Rosemary...you always amaze me! Love it!

And,now, we're hitting the Holiday season! I love this time of year...getting ready for Halloween in the States & I adore decorating, throwing parties & just celebrating!
This year, I've designed MORE Halloween goodies to coordinate with last year's Spooky Junque.  I still love the persimmon, tangerine & peach color combo for Halloween...so, the NEW kits coming out are in the same color scheme...just think of them as 'add-ons'. They are called: Spooky. And they have a bit of an updated flair & will go perfectly with my Spooky Junque

If you purchased the Spooky Junque kits last year, then you will be set for our Spooky release coming up. But, if you missed it...we are giving you a screamin' deal: All Spooky Junque kits bundled up AND my free printable: Let Them Eat Candy! *you can't get it anywhere else!*

The entire Spooky Junque Collection has never been bundled up, but for the next week, we'll have it all bundled for you:
Ala carte, it's $41.00, but we're bundling it ALL *Plus* the Printable for $25!

So, grab it while you can...& we'll be ringing in the Holiday season ready to uplift & inspire!
Thanks again to everyone!

Our latest creative travels: glamping!

Summer has come to an end here in the U.S. and we spent the last month of our summer on a creative adventure....fixing up a vintage trailer for our glamping travels.  Glam + camping =glamping. If you've been following me on Instagram, my blog, facebook  and Pinterest, you're familiar with our journey of the Vintage Trailer Refurb! We first named her Daisy...she's a beaut. We painted her aqua, white and bright yellow. And, during the process of collecting retro *accessories*, we found an old can opener with the name....Dazey! We immediately decided that was just how we'd spell the name of our glamper!

Over Labor Day Weekend, we took her out for her Maiden Voyage and had such a marvelous time traveling! But, of course...as with any road trip, there were some mishaps. We lost her aqua hubcap, forgot a few major things for the 'glam' part, but other than that had a lovely time! I learned what my Glamping Essentials are and wanted to share!
Jeff is a camper at heart and so he was in charge of the camping basics. I am a glam girl at heart, so I was in charge of the glam basics.  And of course, glamping is all about the details.

1. Glam up the kitchen.
I found some vintage goodies that made it all so fun. This cute enamel teapot, a retro TV tray and then, mixed it up with the white metal tins from Ikea- filled them with our colorful forks, straws and made a little leaf arrangement! Perfectly lovely!
I scored at the Fleaology Market with that vintage Thermos Cooler! I loved it...we packed goodies for s'mores and such...then, had it sitting in our vignettes for added 'ambiance'.

2. Glamp up the surroundings!
We camped up a canyon that had trees. LOTS of them. And we added buntings I'd made with fabrics that coordinate with our pillows inside Dazey.  I just cut them out, sewed them together and then hung them in the trees. I had some ruffled strips leftover from my curtains and pillows, so I wrapped them on the tree! So fun! And, I had the matching tin hanging vase from Ikea that we filled with golden leaves, too!

3. Glamp up with vignettes.
Creating comfortable and glammed up vignettes make it fun to sit and relax.  Although our son thought it was ridiculous that I was decorating our campsite....I found him sitting in our vintage chaise reading! Ahhh...success!

One of my favorite things about this was our LOVE letters! One of my Creative Team Members, Nancy, sent me these vintage plastic letters a while back and I've been waiting to use them on JUST the perfect project! This was it! My daughter covered the "L" with vintage map pages. and the 'E" with vintage book paper. I painted the 'V' with chalkboard paint and meant to write on it, but never got around to it...as you can see in the pictures...the 'V' got lost, so I will have fun writing on it for next time!

I simply tied them around the tree trunk w/ jute twine. It really added to the entire vignette! And...yes, a bunting DOES make everything better. *wink*

So, here's Dazey all glammed up! I think she likey! *wink* I have big plans for my chalkboard door, but haven't had a chance to decorate it yet. I will do that on our next trip in a month! *yup- already have another road trip planned!*

4. Glam up with lights!
A campfire is a must. Glow sticks are a must. And for glamping...stringing lights in the trees is a must. Now, THIS is what I forgot...a long extension cord! aarrghh! So, you'll notice that we strung the lights through the screen door of Dazey! LOL....hey, it worked! And I have to say...even our skeptical son was loving the night glow of the lights in our campsite! sooo magical. so glam!
Love was in the air!
and we had so much fun!  Now....I was totally inspired by the whole retro/vintage vibe of our glamping experience....from the decorating, to our collecting...I just HAD to create a kit for our pictures, decorating and even our props!
So, I whipped up Insta Travels. Yes, this does have a few 'glamping' references, but there are fun things for road trips, air travel and general adventure!
Can't you just see some of these fun images ironed on tea towels, buntings and pillows? I think I'll even send the PNG file through my Silhouette to cut out some vinyl and adhere it onto Dazey somewhere...like the 'I'd rather be glamping'? or 'Happy Camper'? What do you think?

Ok...so, after all of that ...I hope you are uplifted and inspired to get creative with YOUR travels...whatever it may be, where ever you may go...get creative!
And, you'll be able to create with the Insta Travels kit!

and continue to create!

Hello all!  I’m Heather Thoming a wife, mom, photographer, foodie, crafter, DIY’r, geeky bookworm, lover of digital design, color,  instagram, and all things social.  I was born and raised in Colorado, but I currently live in Las Vegas with my sweet husband, three fabulous girls and one red-headed little guy! I am the creator of WhipperBerry a fun blog where I share simple, yet stunning crafts, gift ideas, recipes, party ideas and home DIY.  I also pepper in a little geekery with tutorials on how I use Instagram and other fun iPhone apps. My work has been featured Woman’s Day Magazine, Cooking Magazine and will soon be featured on HGTV. I am self taught in almost everything I do.  I’m rather tenacious when it comes to mastering new skills.  I love a good challenge and that is how WhipperBerry came to be.  I wanted to learn how to be a good photographer and designer and it kind of took off from there. I have a passion for my loving, good design, fantastic parties, adventurous travel and stunning photography.

You can find me here

Hi there! My name is Jamie Pate. I am wife of one, mother of five, daughter of two, sister to one, and friends with many. I love the paper crafts world and have been involved deeply since 1997. To me, telling a story starts with a photo. I consider myself a life artist that tells her story by way of scrapbook layout, mini book, art journal, or even a card to inspire a friend, just to name a few. I don’t try to stay caught up. I just try to tell them when they happen so I don’t forget when they have passed. Digital and hybrid art is just one of many ways to tell those stories, and it brings me lots of joy to be part of this wonderful community.

Jing Van Opstal , once a dedicated hotelier then became a professional “Hausfrau” 13 years ago when she married her German husband who has been giving her constant encouragement on her creative pursuits.  She has been fortunate to live in and visit many countries throughout the world due to her husband’s occupation and thus, experienced several cultural adventures which inspire her to create and combine amazing colors, designs and even scents.
Her attention to details makes her unique and whatever she ventures out to do, she will try to make it special… aside from artistic work, she loves to entertain at home and that’s where her dining table is always full of themed, home-made accents.  Well, she loves something different from the usual.  Her artistic style? … “I love to discover and try different things – so my style is totally a mystery … I love being mysterious.”

My name is Kirsty Wiseman, wife to Mark and Momma to Ellie and our handsome pooch, Eddy.  I am foremost a Mum and secondly I am serious finger twitcher.  I cure this ail by constantly tip tapping on my mac or my iPhone or my camera or my wacom.  My fingers rise to the challenge of boredom by creating or searching for beautiful things that make me feel super inspired to craft.  I love the feeling of accomplishment of crafting; of being able to sustain my thirst for creating and giving.  Photographising, scrapbooking, card making and blogging features heavily in my free time and magically they come together to tell stories, create art, fuel inspiration and most of all - make me happy.  Life is wonderful, life is art.
