Compendium Gratitude

I mentioned before that I'm involved in Compendium's A Thankful Life campaign! I love it. It's uplifted & inspiRed me so much...just what my mantra is with Rhonna Designs! *wink* 

THe idea is to be a part of this 'Thankful Life'....every week. But, without even planning....it's become something I'm doing Every. Day!  

It started out with my Year Of Gratitude boxed gift card set...I have been filling out the fab gratitude book that comes with it along w/ sending out Thank You cards each week. 

Not only has it lifted my spirits, but it's uplifted & inspired me on so many levels in my life. 

I LOOK for things to be thankful for. 

I make notes of what those around me have done for me in my life.

Helped me see the MANY things I am grateful for.

Share notes w/ people I haven't normally thanked...though I should! *wink*

&.....

the unexpected feeling of: " I can't just pick ONE a week!" so....I've taken this challenge to every single day.

One thing that's been SOOO fun is the cute Lunch Mail cards they have.

 I stick them in my kids' lunches, pockets, or purses so they get a little boost each day. I tell them how AWESOME I think they are & how grateful I am for them.  This has overflowed into texts, notes, emails, phone calls to people to express how grateful I am for them....

truly...a grateful heart is a happy heart.

So, anyone want to join in the campaign to write 1 million thank you notes this year? It's easy! It's just all about gratitude...& SHOWING it!

A Year Of Gratitude

1 Year. 12 Months. 52 Weeks. 365 Days.  What will YOU do with your today? With the clean slate that we've been given at this time of year, I LOVE thinking of new ways to be better.  I am so excited about this new kit from Compendium books!  It's called: A Year of Gratitude.

It's an amazing little kit. You open it up to see this! 52 blank Thank You cards with cute gold envies & a little Journal that has blank sheets, but also takes you through prompts that really bring out the gratitude.

I love this quote on the inside of the box: 

"Each act of gratitude starts a ripple of kindness that begins with you & reaches further than you can imagine.  Every letter you write adds joy to the world, so take out your pen & begin."

I LOVE the colors, love the fonts & designs & LOVE this entire concept. It goes perfectly with my One Little Word & One Little Goal concept for 20.thirteen.

I love these steps outlined in the journal:

1. Start noticing and listing the things you are grateful for.

2. Include things you normally take for granted.

3. Keep track of the thank-you notes you send each week.

4. Write down the ways that your life changes.

With each of these steps, it takes you a bit further & really makes you think about it.

Then, the journal has different sections about: 

1.What makes a good thank-you note.

-which I LOVE! 

2. People I'm grateful for this year.

3. Some thoughts on living everyday as a thank-you.

4. sections with different 'gratitude' quotes that are so lovely!

I'm looking forward to taking the steps to be STRONG...in everything I do.  

And, even though I feel like I am grateful...this focus throughout the year will make me stronger. It will help me be strong in my focus, time, & sharing as I write personal little thank-yous!

Gone are the days of personal correspondance & I think this is just so heartfelt.

So...you'll be hearing about my experience here each week!

Idea No.1: 31 Halloween Ideas with Rhonna Designs:: Spooky Teacups

With our release of Spooky over at Rhonna Designs, we've had such a great response! (deal of the bundled kits goes until Sept. 30~) 

Aaaanddd...

I've had so many questions about HOW to incorporate it w/ last year's Spooky Junque like I'd intended.  

So....I thought it would be fun to share 31 days of Halloween Ideas using Rhonna Designs! Are you in?

Of course, I'll be sharing the amazing creativity of my Creative Team, too! Aaannnnddd... (I'll be skipping some days) but, we'll end ON my birthday...October 23! I'm a birthday LOVER & I think it's always an excuse  to celebrate! So...join us  while we share lots of fun ideas and end it off w/ a BANG>>>>I am a firm believer of giving gifts on my birthday. *wink* 

So...let's start w/ Idea no. 1! Spooky Teacups

For me, decorating is all about 

Hybrid + DIY + Repurposing. 

I love using what I have around the house! Just re-purpose! 

So...this was easy as 1,2,3!

1. Print off the Insta SPOOKY kits/icons onto inkjet window decals.

2. Cut out & apply them to vintage teacups or jars, or bottles...whatever you have in your house.

3. Fill w/ candy, flowers...spiders! & *kaBOOM* a little nook of decor that packs a Spooky punch!

I just filled them w/ silk flowers (candy is too tempting for me) &  put my teacups on a long black platter I had, added some felt bats under neath...layered some doilies, burlap & linen...& VOILA...a little centerpiece in my entry way.

As you can see...I've got some Spooky stuff going on above it...but, more on THAT another day! *wink*

So....see how the Junquey vibe of burlap, linen & doilies meld the flavors of Spooky & Spooky Junque...I love the look, feel & vibe!

You CAN mix & meld & boil....spooky, huh?

Now, don't get me wrong...you don't *have* to coordinate both collections....in fact, I figured the vintage style of Spooky Junque will appeal to some while the more modern sleek style of Spooky will appeal to others. And, as you now...I'm always evolving & changing things up...it keeps me creative! So, this year, I wanted to bring in both styles- can you say eclectic? Yup...that's me!mixing & melding styles....keeps me a*live (creatively)...cackle. cackle.

So...go! cReate! & enjoy the all of the ideas we bring to you this Halloween Season!

The POWER of positive thinking....Billion Clicks

Last night I sat next to some of my dearest friends...listening, laughing, crying...& feeling an overwhelming feeling that I can do this hard thing called life. **mind you...the last little bit has been rough....** But, as I listened to & watched Hillary Weeks' video, I was sooo uplifted & inspired!

Take a minute to listen to her experiment....

What she said just sunk into my soul....Positive thinking CAN change my outlook on life. & I was soo excited to get my hands on a clicker & start this experiment! 

I am a pretty positive person by nature...but, I fall into these slumps where I just get exhausted; physically, emotionally, spiritually....& I have to pick myself up from that & get back into my 'Happy Routine'...

Sometimes that picking up is harder for me...like in the winter. I have a REALLLLLYYYY difficult time *feeling* cheerful when it's cold & gloomy outside. My aches & pains get worse & I can easily sit & focus on my health issues & let it overtake me.

No. Thank. You.

I'm tired of that.

I knew I needed to do this. right away!

And....they gave us each a clicker to start with!!! I was so excited to start my journey...

for 2 weeks I'll be clicking this little clicker.

& I made this cute sticker above out of my Rhonna Designs Insta Thanks & Insta Seals kits, printed out on sticker paper & it's on my clicker now! LOVE that quote! It really helps me remember to be thankful. & THAT is one thing that will always, always make me happy!

So, as I sat in the waiting room this morning....for over an hour...I was looking around at all the things, people, thoughts in my head...& focused on the Positive! Next thing I know...I was out of there & on my way...I looked down & saw 133! I was so happy I focused on those POSITIVE things instead of getting ticked off that I was waiting for so long! LOL!

It's all about our positive energy. positive thoughts. I believe this can help us in any of our darkest hours...and influence our self. our family. our friends.

And, i LOVE that she's got Compendium products in her store! So uplifting & inspiring! (the GIVEAWAY on my blog is open until Friday..so, go over to enter!)

There are more ideas for friends, schools, etc.  Can you imagine if the whole world did this? I love it!

But, of course...we have to start with ourselves...So, I am ordering some for my family...I want to do this for 2 weeks...set the example...have them observe ME & how I am changing...& then we can all jump in! **at least that's my plan! **

So so thankful for those precious times when you feel so uplifted & inspired you know you will look back on that moment & pin point it as being a pivotal moment of change.  I felt that last night. I feel that with this experiment...& 

I'm doing it!

Just like the video says: You are not here by mistake. I love this.

twenty.11 .... twenty.12. NOW is the time.

I love this time of year. So much reflection, celebration & excitement!

As I looked back at my goals for the year, I'm so thrilled at what I was able to accomplish:

journey to get my health back.

focus on my family relationships.

read the Book Of Mormon in 100 days.

train for & run a marathon.

find a balance in my art career that enables me to LIVE life happily.

learn to sip & savor every moment.

Each of these has been a huge learning process...each one has taught me different things...I've had a rough, rough year.

But, I'm so happy with the outcome of the trials & hardships.

One thing I've learned that I hope to take with me in this next year is: 

I MUST have goals. 

I MUST work at them every single day.

One year will go by quickly & 

I MUST act NOW if I want to live the kind of life I've always wanted.

I'm totally inspired by all of the Compendium books, but this one just spoke to me. (& is a huge inspiration to my new 2012 Calendar & 'A Year to Follow Your Heart' kit.)

now that we are at the end of the game....I get a little emotional!  Isn't it crazy how you look back & it seemed like we started just yesterday?

see? Now, each time you do another 21 Challenge, it will get easier.

With each step...you will become even more amazing!

So..you ask: HOW? How can I continue this fire? What is my maintenance program?

My answer: 

the 100 Creativity Exercises.  I swear by these. This is my answer to the maintenance...it's perfect for the creativity aspect. Whether you are a visual artist, business woman, musician, gardener...whatever! These exercises teach you to think outside the box in anyway you want or need.  They will help you maintain & get through your 'lulls'...ruts...whatever you want to call them!

I promise...it will exercise your creative muscle! *wink*

I only share this because I use them. Daily. And they work!

I have people asking me all of the time..how do you keep up? How do you continue to have new ideas?
