DIY festive art tutorial:: recycled. repurposed.

So...many of you asked HOW I did these little star/flowers for my festive 4th of July vingette.
 ask & you shall recieve....

Supplies:
toilet paper/paper towel/wrapping paper rolls
scissors
bone folder
hot glue/glue gun
printed hybrid art from House of 3 (Four printable sticker kit, July No. 4 digital kit, July No. 4 Printable kit.)

Steps:
1. Take the paper rolls & cut them into 5 or 6 sections, depending on how thin you want your art. Flatten them out as shown in #2.
2. Hot glue them together at the center. Hold together 'til cool.
3. Cut out printed House of 3 art & hot glue in center.

Hang them around for fun...parties, decorations, whatever....
now...show me YOUR 4th of July decorations!

having FUN...

(Image created with NEW Rhonna Summer Swirls brushes at House of 3)

Yes, time is flying. I can't believe June is almost over. We have been having loads of FUN! Lots of family here...playing with cousins, meeting up with friends, getting creative, planning for Spark & just enjoying the pRocess!

So, I have to admit....I have a bad habit of keeping up my Spring/Easter decorations until summer. haha. Does anyone else fall into that trap? It's just so fun, festive, fresh...school ends & BAM! It's the 4th of July! Well, this year I did NOT want June to end with my Easter decorations still up...so, I made some of the NEW House of 3 printable banners...easy! Print, cut, hang!
And added some other goodies here & there.

I just put a bunch of peppermint striped candies in jars for a festive feel. And then, last night the girls & I went over to my FAVE creative escape: Dear Lizzie Boutique & Bistro. Margie was teaching a class & we got to do a little shopping & treated ourselves to some of these fabulous chocolates!

We ran into some of my fave gals....love you guys! Thanks girls...it was so good to hang out!

I used some of the FREEBIE Celebrate banners I had on the DIY Mother's Day Flowers craft show & mixed them with the other fun stuff at House of 3. Printables...how I love you!

The NEW *Four* Printable Banners are so great. They come in 2 sheets...one with the fun designs on them & then the other with just the cool patterns so you can personalize & add whatever you want! I sewed mine together & added other little goodies!  Just because they are here for the 4th of July, doesn't mean you can't use them other times. They don't say 4th of July....but do have a very stars & stripes, crest, medallion, funky vibe...so, ANYONE can use these ANYTIME!

And how cute are these little mini flags I have all over? I just cut them out of the *Four* Printable Kit & put it on a little skewer stick...I have them all over the house. Love it!

and...a funny story. Yesterday we were doing our morning *power jobs* & I was sooo irritated with all of the toilet paper rolls that were in the garbage can...
because.
as you know.
this means we are going through a LOT of t.p. oy!

So, as I was giving my kids a little *you-only-need-3-squares-of-toilet-paper* lecture, I grabbed them all & had a whole hand full.

chuck them? I think not!
I remembered this brilliant image in my mind & decided to use these to make a cool little *Fourth *of *July *STARS* toilet* paper *roll*wall *art! LOL!
yea. I think I might be crazy...is it this summer heat?
oh well. I had fun!
Hope you are having a faaaaabulous summer & happy weekend!

Press Release....the cat is out o' the bag!

Pink Paislee Brings Exclusive House Of Three Collection To Craft Market
Rosemont, IL (CHA Summer Show - Booth #600) July 27th, 2010 - Founded in 2009, the House Of Three brand was co-founded by industry leaders Heidi Swapp, Janet Hopkins, and Rhonna Farrer. Together these three women have developed a digital and hybrid printable products website that has become an inspiration destination for crafters all over the globe. Now, this talented trio has joined forces with craft manufacturer Pink Paislee, LLC to release their first signature line of paper crafting products.
Elegant design meets eclectic materials in this new Parisian Anthology Collection.
This stunning array of products will include designer ink resist papers, brooch brads, polymer clear stamps, printed corrugate shapes, and several unique embellishments designed with crafters in mind.  Whether you are a paper crafter, jewelry maker, or seamstress you will find something in this collection to incorporate into your art.

"This amazing team has been providing project inspiration to loyal fans over the past year," explains Pink Paislee Owner Rebecca Cross.  "We wanted to introduce their sophisticated "design district" style to the everyday scrapbook enthusiast. We are very excited about adding this Parisian inspired collection to our growing family of products and we welcome the chance to work with this extremely talented group of women!"

The House of Three team joined forces with Pink Paislee early in 2010 to begin developing an exclusive collection that will be distributed across the world. These products will be available to those who have not yet ventured into the digital hybrid realm and want to enjoy a more "hands on" approach to crafting.

"We have loved Pink Paislee's products since they hit the market" says Janet Hopkins, co-founder from the House Of Three.  "Their fresh designs and low retail price points are hard to beat.  When we decided to venture into physical products we knew this would be a good match for us so we jumped at the chance to work with Rebecca and her team," explains Hopkins.  "Our customers have been requesting physical products from us ever since the inception of our digital site and we think now is a good time for us to infuse our vibe into a craft collection for retailers everywhere.  We could not be more excited about this new venture!"
