feeling grateful...

lots going on around here....easy to get overwhelmed & discouraged.   But, I'm deciding to feel grateful instead.

This quote has helped me a lot:

" When we encounter challenges and problems in our lives, it is often difficult for us to focus on our blessings. However, if we reach deep enough and look hard enough, we will be able to feel and recognize just how much we have been given."

So, rather than feeling overwhelmed or discouraged I need to reach deep enough & look hard enough to feel & recognize how much I've been given...& I have decided...it's the little things that amount to the bigger things. like...

 loving a little Halloween crafting....

enjoying the fall weather.

getting excited for some glimmer misting tonight.

looking forward to a birthday celebration week...not just for cute Dear Lizzie....but some other people I know! *wink*

So many fun *spark* surprises

.....they will keep unfolding on the site as the week goes on.

First up: Check out this private party Dear Lizzie Boutique & Bistro is putting on at their store! It's planned for right after our closing rooftop Soiree at the venue...but for those that still have Spark Energy...10pm-1:00am.

As noted, you'll need to provide your own transportation.

and....secondly, since breakfast is kind of an 'iffy' thing for some....there will be Grab & Go Breakfast Special for $5 at the front doors each morning...brought to you by Dear Lizzie Boutique & Bistro....You can snag some eats for $5...bagel with cream cheese & fresh juice! mmm!

Yes, time is flying. I can't believe June is almost over. We have been having loads of FUN! Lots of family here...playing with cousins, meeting up with friends, getting creative, planning for Spark & just enjoying the pRocess!


So, I have to admit....I have a bad habit of keeping up my Spring/Easter decorations until summer. haha. Does anyone else fall into that trap? It's just so fun, festive, fresh...school ends & BAM! It's the 4th of July! Well, this year I did NOT want June to end with my Easter decorations still up...so, I made some of the NEW House of 3 printable banners...easy! Print, cut, hang!
And added some other goodies here & there.

I just put a bunch of peppermint striped candies in jars for a festive feel. And then, last night the girls & I went over to my FAVE creative escape: Dear Lizzie Boutique & Bistro. Margie was teaching a class & we got to do a little shopping & treated ourselves to some of these fabulous chocolates!

We ran into some of my fave gals....love you guys! Thanks girls...it was so good to hang out! 

I used some of the FREEBIE Celebrate banners I had on the DIY Mother's Day Flowers craft show & mixed them with the other fun stuff at House of 3. Printables...how I love you!

The NEW *Four* Printable Banners are so great. They come in 2 sheets...one with the fun designs on them & then the other with just the cool patterns so you can personalize & add whatever you want! I sewed mine together & added other little goodies!  Just because they are here for the 4th of July, doesn't mean you can't use them other times. They don't say 4th of July....but do have a very stars & stripes, crest, medallion, funky vibe...so, ANYONE can use these ANYTIME!

And how cute are these little mini flags I have all over? I just cut them out of the *Four* Printable Kit & put it on a little skewer stick...I have them all over the house. Love it!

and...a funny story. Yesterday we were doing our morning *power jobs* & I was sooo irritated with all of the toilet paper rolls that were in the garbage can...
because. 
as you know. 
this means we are going through a LOT of t.p. oy!

So, as I was giving my kids a little *you-only-need-3-squares-of-toilet-paper* lecture, I grabbed them all & had a whole hand full. 

chuck them? I think not! 
I remembered this brilliant image in my mind & decided to use these to make a cool little *Fourth *of *July *STARS* toilet* paper *roll*wall *art! LOL!
yea. I think I might be crazy...is it this summer heat?
oh well. I had fun!

New Advanced Digital Brush class &...Spark!

I'm not going to lie.

I am sooo excited about tonights advanced digital design brush class called *Artsy Refined* Digital Brush Secrets workshop at Dear Lizzie!...for a few reasons:

No. 1> I adore Dear Lizzie. the store. the treats. the ambiance. the %15 off Laura gives all of our workshop members while we have the WHOLE store to ourselves at night...chandeliers sparkling, eveyrone laughing & creating!....sheer bliss!

No. 2>This is a small, intimate class: only 10 of us will be there...and, Janet & Heidi! I"m thrilled to teach these design secrets & create so many fun projects together...all sitting there...with our laptops & graphic tablets...getting inspired!

No. 3>I know I always say this, BUT...this new brush kit is so fun...it's more advanced & so I give them some interesting tools that don't look like anything that different than my previous Digital Brush kits...but the design techniques we'll be learning...oooo, I'm giddy!

Spark...No. 2!

Ok. Ok.
It's official...all 3 of us actually *said* it out loud on TV this morning...there will be a Spark No. 2! ....check it out!

Even though they spelled my name wrong *wink* it's all good. In watching our clip filmed at Dear Lizzie...it gets me all *sparked* & excited about...NO. 2!
*and I LOVE that it showed my cute sister in the clip of THE fab video done by THE JMills!*

Liz is a natural. Seriously...she's just as beautiful & inspiring on the inside as she is on the outside. I adore this woman...& she knocked it out of the park with getting the Sparks flying...today was an a*mazingly inspiring day & we are sooo excited to share the news about Spark No. 2.
We loved everything about Spark No. 1....from having the a*mazing Jefra be a contributor to the venue, This Is The Place, to the decorations... & now are excited to kick things up a notch & bring Spark No. 2 to you...completely different than No. 1, but the same, amazing inspiration to Spark you inner creativity!

it's late...had a wonderful night at Dear Lizzie for their first Winter Workshop with Margie! We made Glitter cups & just enjoyed being creative with women from all over Utah...It was divine!

and...speaking of the Winter Workshops Series! I have ONE more spot in my Digital Brush class on February 25th! Can't wait! It will be fab!

Sparks are flying....

Tomorrow morning watch NBC's local affiliate: KSL's Studio 5. THE Liz Kartchner will be doing a segment on tapping into your creativity.....and...
the Spark girls were involved!

We met at Dear Lizzie (thank you so much, Laura!) & the fab Studio 5 crew set up the lights in the *newly painted & decorated* part of the Bistro...look at how stunning it is: white on white with chandeliers all over. *sigh* They've done it again....
(and...perfect for the first class in the Dear Lizzie Winter Workshop Series...tomorrow night with...Margie! Can't wait!)
Look at how *Sparky* the entrance of the store is, too! Doilies, coffee filter flowers, sheer magic! I am in LOVE with those 'XO' letters/lights.

So, stay tuned....Liz is sure to have some fab stuff about creativity! Can't wait!

I've been super busy since my vacay in the sun! Workin' on new projects & one of my faves was a 'helping Haiti' collaborative kit that will be GREAT! I'll give you more detes as they arrive....for now, we've been praying for all. At times like this, my heart is full of gratitude.

New Class: Another Let's Brush Up digital design class will be offered in this Winter Workshop series on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. This will be done a bit differently than the previous class I did back in November. Important tidbits:

2. No Laptops needed. I'll be offering a more advanced class later on where you'll bring your laptops, but it will be a smaller group than we had before. For this class, we will have the 20 people maximum....you'll be sitting at the darling tables in the Bistro, sippin' your drinks...enjoying Dear Lizzie treats & watching me on the big screen! This way we will be able to accommodate all of the Intermediate Beginners who want to learn the ins & outs of Digital Brushes.

3. HUGE Brush CD will be included. Remember the fab kit last time? I told you it was 'exclusive' right? Well, I didn't lie! LOL! YOU were the ONLY class that will ever have those brushes.
