cReative team tuesday: coffee filter wreaths w/ Rhonna Designs

This past holiday weekend, I was able to spend time w/ my family. And as you know, my sister, Amy Miles, is on my cReative team. It was so fun to cReate together.  Of course there were some Rhonna Designs involved with this festive coffee filter wreath & I've had many ask HOW to do it...
It's super easy, so I thought I'd share the steps w/ you & show you how we used the NEW Rhonna Designs Christmas designs to sass it up a bit!
We were all together at my brother's cabin & got to cRaft together...my mom is that cute lil lady in the right corner, my sister, Shelle, Sister in Law, Charisse, Amy Miles, my Sister in Law Kim...lil ol' me & then my other Sister in Law Cherie. While they are my Sisters in Law...I just take off the in Law & consider them my sisters. They are truly some of THE most incredible women I know & I'm blessed to have them in my life.
Can you tell I miss them already? ok.

Anyway...
on w/ the steps....
We started out w/ an MDF wreath frame. They are cheap, sturdy & pretty light.

1. Wrap the frame w/ white ribbon. Add a dollop of hot glue, tack the end & just wrap until you meet ends. We do this because last year at our Christmas Craft night...my True, Jamie, showed us how to do this...& since she's the wreath master...we bow to her & do as she commands! **It protects your door & looks nice if you hang on a window.**
2. Fold coffee filters in 1/4s...however, I like to squish mine & make it kind of like a flower. Do what YOU like!  Hot glue 3 coffee filters across the width of the wreath frame.
3. Allow a 1 1/2"-2" space & continue w/ your next row of 3 coffee filters all the way around the entire wreath.
4. Embellish as desired. Here, I've shown some of the fringed paper flowers similar to the ones HERE.
I just printed some of the Merry Christmas Printable Papers right over vintage music sheets & dictionary sheets.  & then used some of the cute Merry Christmas Flags N Tags Printables punched out w/ my 1 1/2" circle punch.

It really doesn't take very long...the men & boys all watched football whilst we chatted, glued & laughed.  I didn't time us, but I'd say about an hour? Then...voila! We had 7 poofy-versatile-coffee filter wreaths for our Craft Olympics! *wink*  Each of us is unique in our style, so it's fun to create something this versatile so each of us can add that lil sass to it that is uniquely 'us'.
I ended up putting mine on my chalkboard wall w/ my vintage window, yarn/tinsel tassel garland & added a little banner that was created out of my Rhonna Designs Merry Christmas Flags N Tags printable...along w/ some of my All Is Bright Washi Tape.  The HUGE bow I created out of vintage music pages & that cute tag is from the Merry Christmas kits, too!
So...there ya go! Hope you feel uplifted & inspired & can't wait to see how YOU are doing w/ the Gift Tag Design Contest...one more week!

Insta Fonts for Instagram FX: cheat sheets

I have been LOVING the amazing response we've been getting for the Insta Fonts...the Instagram Class I'm doing TONIGHT & the Studio 5 segment have really opened doors to what we can DO w/ our Instagram photos!

THANK YOU! And as a little gift to all of the viewers from Studio 5- How about $2.00 off any of the *individual* Insta Fonts
Just put any of the individual Insta Fonts into your Shopping Cart, then enter:

      RDStudio5

in the "Apply Discount Code" box to receive your Insta Fonts for $2.00 off.  Offer good until Thursday the 22nd! *happy thanksgiving*

So, with all of the talk about how to fancy up your photos on your phone & HOW to take the creativity up a notch...we've had a lot of new Insta friends asking about 'cheat sheets' for the Insta Fonts.

As I explain in THIS tutorial, Phonto is the app you use to TYPE in the letter to get the fun Insta dingbat designs in there...BUT...they are so small & if you aren't familiar w/ the designs...it can get frustrating.
So...I'm posting the cheat sheets here for the existing 15 Insta Fonts we have in the store! And from here on out...each of the NEW Insta Fonts *yup, you heard me right...NEW ones coming soon** will be included IN the download kit!
Each of these Insta Fonts are designed to be the CAPITAL letter of the alphabet. So, each kit/font comes w/ 26 designs EXCEPT the Insta Numbers since I wanted a whole set 1-31! So, you will note: there's a,b,c,d,e in there.

      Is Scrapbooking Dead?

Just like any art...the art of memory keeping is evolving w/ our needs, our technology & our lifestyles.  Even though I've been designing traditional scrapbook products for 9 years, you know I have always been a little bit 'techy' when it comes to my personal memory keeping....because it works for me.  So, don't miss this show as we share some fun ways to uplift and inspire YOU and the way YOU keep your memories!

And, as you'll see on my segment...I'll be talking about Instagram. *surprise, surprise*...Don't forget...tomorrow night I'll be teaching a LIVE class at Dear Lizzie Boutique...see HERE for info to register!

      Find the Happiness

Today this is your challenge: Find the happiness even when it's not obvious.
      There's HOPE
      Just believe.
I know a lot of people that have been very saddened about the US Presidential Election outcome. I don't talk politics on my blog here, but I DO offer ideas to uplift & inspiRe. So...w/ so many of us having so many different feelings today...I wanted to offer up some ways I've found peace in this whole election process.

      1. Find the happiness even when it's not obvious.  This quote is very special to my family. And, trust me....we've needed it. I believe that as a person, wife, mom, friend, daughter, sister...I need to LOOK for the happiness in every situation, because I believe it's there. Women of the nation- the world- we need to be examples of this.  We CAN find the happiness, we have to look for it & practice it. every. day.

      2. Have hope.  Hope is a word that means so much to me.  I have hope in the future. I have hope in my family. I have hope in my community. I have hope in our country. I have hope in our world. It all boils down to how WE act & what WE do in our own little circles.  Without hope, there's despair...& I for one do NOT like to feel despair! We can rise above that w/ HOPE!

      3. Just Believe. Be faithful. Be happy. Be hopeful. BELIEVE that there's a purpose to everything. As an LDS woman, I pray for our President all the time. And I will continue to pray for our President.  No matter where we live- USA or not_ we can always pray for our country's leaders.  I echo these words:

After a long campaign, this is now a time for Americans to come together. It is a long tradition among Latter-day Saints to pray for our national leaders in our personal prayers and in our congregations. We invite Americans everywhere, whatever their political persuasion, to pray for the President, for his administration and the new Congress as they lead us through difficult and turbulent times. May our national leaders reflect the best in wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great trust afforded to them by the American people.

I believe this will bring miracles. I believe this will instill hope in our hearts & families. It's time to band together as Americans & find the happiness in every situation! Life is to be lived & loved...so, smile! Every little thing's gonna be alright! *wink*

      cReative Team Tuesday: Party!

Do you have a party or some kind of celebration coming up? Check out how Amy printed out Rhonna Designs to create party Menus, place cards, favors...yes, the list goes on! She even used one of the Insta Spooky images & cut it out of vinyl for her wall!
Seriously...do you die? I'm in LOVE with all of her touches! What a fun party!  From the DIY party blowers, to the little signs here & there to the 'Happy Halloween' vinyl on her wall. Perfection!
Thanks so much for uplifting & inspiRing us, Amy!
