are you.....

On Friday, November 5th, we'll start another round of The {21} Challenge
Who's in?

For those of you that have joined me before...you know the drill.  For those of you that are new to this journey...here's the 411.

1. Choose 1 habit you want to make or break in the 21 days.
*we'll end on Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S.*

2. Choose an art journal of some kind. old book, notebook, scrapbook, sketch book...something!
OR you can make the little book  out of the NEW House of 3 21 Challenge kit. There's a tiny book that you can make 5x 2.5. I love it. I've found that sometimes you don't have the time to do a full blown art journal, but you do need 5 min. of creative time....a small canvas is much more do-able at times.  But, you may choose to have a larger book..whatever inspires you!

3. Meet back here on Friday, November 5th for your daily motivational coaching!  I'll have art from the kit plus quotes, motivation & a kick in the can for you! *and me*. LOL.

*note: this week's Wednesday Web Show will be an intro to The {21} Challenge. I'll share some of my past journals with you, my experiences & my tips for your successful 21 day journey!

++++++++++++++++++++

Now...put your creativity hat on....get pumped...gather your supplies & let's ramp up for the next week.
Here are a few things to *spark* your creativity.

gaaaaaaa. can I die now? I think I've gone to heaven.

and...this is still one of my fave things to watch: Veer's creativity never ceases to amaze me.

Happy Friday & please leave me any questions you have about the {21} Challenge HERE in the comments. Thanks!

5 DIY Recycled & Re-purposed Halloween decor ideas

I love Halloween...it's right around the corner & I had fun this year with little DIY recycled & re-purposed bits & pieces around the house that make it so easy to add pops of FUN & a bit of Scaredom!
Use wine or champagne glasses upside down & *capture* some Halloween art or even a spider inside.
I just took some of our House of 3 Halloween art (Haunted Trees & Haunted Dingbat font) & printed out on my Epson R1900 inkjet printer on Epson inkjet transparencies...
You can see through them & they look cool in a bell jar, glass or even in a Mason Jar like I did with these jars in the Spring & last Christmas!

Add some mini banners to a wreath you already have....
I just printed out the mini banners on some sticker paper & folded them over some baker's twine. This wreath has a styrofoam base, so I simply pinned the banner into the wreath. DIY=super easy!
To add a little fun in the center of the wreath, I took 3 toothpicks, wrapped the sticker paper onto the toothpicks & glued a pearl on the top. (note: the 'happy halloween' is not included in the kit.)

Use Glimmer Mist to add color to your DIY coffee filter flowers & lollies made out of old newspapers.
Video tutorials found here: coffee filter flowers.

If you look closely....i added a bit of 'creep' to it...the newspaper is the obituaries from a year ago! eeeeek!
Recycle gift wrap! Here, I've taken some of the black & white polka dot giftwrap & made a lolly out of it.
I added a crepe paper flower to it in the center & used the new House of 3 Ornate Alpha Monogram brushes kit to make the 'boo' banner!

Make a birdcage chandelier out of recycled cardboard boxes & broken jewelry!
I *love* the black cardboard boxes our House of 3 Wall Art & Heart Boxes come in & I cut it apart to make a birdcage for Halloween. Added some broken jewelry to the bottom of it (with a Heart Box chandelier crystal) & put a spooky crow inside!

happy diy crafting!

Daily Gratitude....

Yes. this seems to be my mantra lately...be grateful. daily.
Not once a week. Not when I feel like it. Not when it's easy.
but.
daily.
Tonight's web show will be highlighting our new collection: Daily Gratitude. Love it!
the colors. the vibe. everything. & as you'll notice, there is no orange in it which is commonly used at this time of year. I designed it with the idea of it being used daily...all throughout the year. BUT, it goes so well with our Gratidue collection from last year if you're dying to add orange & grey to it! It does look beautiful!
And, as Janet shows us here in this *amazing* tablescape;
She used the *new* Ornate Alpha Printable kit! (also comes in a brush set)
love this...
so, don't miss the web show TONIGHT! *sadly, I won't be there again..I have a pressing meeting I need to be at! LOL!* I'll miss you again!
and....
thx for all of the Felt Flower orders...I ended up not even using my Etsy...but, we do have a few more left...Just email me here. before they disappear!
ok...here's to a GREAT Wednesday!
**********
P.S. Did you see? The 21 Challenge Art kit is up..I'll be starting a NEW round on Friday Nov. 5 so we will end ON Thanksgiving day..here in the U.S...but, that doesn't mean you can't join in if you don't live in the U.S. *wink* More info to come...

biRthday giveaway....

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes! You are all so sweet!

I love my birthday!

It started when my mom made sure our birthday was magical & we felt special.  She always made it magical in a way only she could do! *thanks mom*.
And then, when I got older & was away from my mom, I had some great examples who taught me another way to enjoy my birthday & bring the *magic* into my day!

GIVE to others.

It works.
Every birthday, I love to give birthday gifts to those around me...& focus on GIVING on my birthday. It really is a time to celebrate!  So...how about a Birthday Giveaway!  I'll choose 3 of my blog friends in the comments to send these Felt flowers! :)

Happy Birthday to....all of us!

DIY Fall Felt Flowers

Ok, this is for my mom...I'd realized I hadn't blogged about these yet & she wanted to see them! I was telling her about a couple of things that were fun about this project.

1. Felt. It has a lovely Autumnal feeling to it & you all know how much I adore flowers to accessorize my outfits.... but..I only had an off white color laying around...
so>
2. Glimmer Mist. I tried it out on my flowers & ya know what? I LOVE the effect it has. Since I started these flowers, I've purchased other felt in colors (like the above heather grey) & some other fabric (the chartreuse I wanted was difficult to achieve with the mist), but isn't it cool to see HOW the Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist works ON the blue rosette? ( I used Peacock on it!)
The Chalkboard Glimmer Mist soaks right into the felt so wonderfully. I love the look...kind of a soft suede look, ya know? Look at how this pink flower turned out...it's the Cotton Candy & it looks so fab! I love it!

A while back one of my Creativity Exercises was getting inspiration online..I had found this pillow at Z Gallerie & could not get it out of my head...and then I had a bunch of birthdays coming up so I got to work & made a ton of gifts! &....a few pillows like this.
They did not cost  $99.95 *wink*.

I love the way they turned out...I started out making clips & brooches..

but, of course, we've worn them in our hair, on our lapels, purses, shoes & even making a Fall Garland out of them! I have so many around here...LOL...we are being overtaken by these little fluffy, cozy flowers!
so, mom...this little DIY photo fest was for you! love you!
& happy Fall....*made some butternut squash soup & roasted cauliflower & it was easy, healthy & delicious!*
now I want to make some pumpkin butter...a tradition for my birthday!

**ETA:  NOw, you can purchase the HOW-TO video & step by step workshop downloads on Rhonna Designs...so, YOU can make these, too!

feeling grateful...

lots going on around here....easy to get overwhelmed & discouraged.   But, I'm deciding to feel grateful instead.
This quote has helped me a lot:
So, rather than feeling overwhelmed or discouraged I need to reach deep enough & look hard enough to feel & recognize how much I've been given...& I have decided...it's the little things that amount to the bigger things. like...
 loving a little Halloween crafting....

enjoying the fall weather.

getting excited for some glimmer misting tonight.

looking forward to a birthday celebration week...not just for cute Dear Lizzie....but some other people I know! *wink*
So...today I'm choosing an attitude of gratitude *wink* love you, Margie...it works!
Share this attitude & I promise you'll have a great day!
